The Lion, the Witch and The Wardrobe y Espanol

Buenos Dias Amigos!
Last week, I was able to take the three older boys to see "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" at the Bijou Theater in downtown Knoxville. Unfortunately, Braden was still sick, so our friend Jake came along with us. It was a homeschool field trip that my sister, Wendy, arranged for us!
The children all enjoyed the play. They were a little disappointed to find out that now they also have additional assignments about the book. (Secretly, I loved that part! Hee-hee!)

(This picture looks deceiving. The theater was FULL. I snapped it as soon as we were seated. Most people came in after us!)

After the play, we strolled through downtown and enjoyed the Christmas decorations. There was a HUGE tree, and lots of windows were already decorated. All this decorating makes me realize, I am so behind! After the play, Wendy and I took the kids to Pelancho's. It is a Mexican restaurant with a freat atmosphere. Since Wendy and I are teaching Spanish together, we considered this a Spanish field trip. All of the children had to order their food in Spanish, and then we did our lesson at the table! :) Our waiter really had fun with us and taught the children a few more words.

Before we left, one of the waiters showed the children how to "win" an animal out of the Claw Machine. (I'm not sure what you call it, but you put a quarter in and then you direct a "claw" to pick up your prize.) It was awarded to Camden b/c he was the youngest! He was so happy!

It was a wonderful day. A day that makes me glad we homeschool!

Adios Amigos!
