Background Check 101

For anyone beginning the adoption process, this is a lesson to be learned.

If you have children in your home, oh...say age 6 and under, you should tell them what a background check is for and that you (hopefully!) have nothing on your record to cause any concern.

I, unfortunately, did not have this lesson before going to the courthouse to obtain my background check for the adoption today. When I arrived home, Braden ran out to the van and asked in a panic, " Mom, are you and Dad criminals?"
