Rice Krispie Snowmen??

Before Christmas Becca and Jess came over for a fun Christmas afternoon. We enjoyed lunch, and then Becca led all of us in a Christmas Craft from her childhood...making snowmen out of rice krispie treats! The boys all LOVED it!

All of the snowmen and snowomen were adorable, but Jess gets the prize for being the most creative! She created a pregnant snowoman! Adorable! We laughed and laughed! Then the boys enjoyed getting to EAT their Rice Krispie art! Too cute!

After the snowman snack, the three of us exchanged "home-made" ornaments for the tree! I now have a Jess-elf staring at me from the branches. Becca's ornament was beautiful! My favorite part is the paint pen "Merry Christmas!" Seriously, it is going to be fun to hang these on the tree every year and remember my special friends! I am so blessed to have them both in my life!

Time with Colby and Graylyn

This past weekend, I got to spend some time with Colby and Graylyn. It was touching to see how they are growing, but, honestly, heart-wrenching for me as well. The only tears that ran down my cheeks the entire weekend, was after Colby and Graylyn were out the door to leave. It was so emotional for me to be with them...but so good to see their smiling faces! I miss them so much!
Okay, enough melodrama - Here's what I really want to say...
First, Colby, your scrapbook was AWESOME! Thank you for bringing it to show to me! I felt honored that you wanted me to see it! Thank you for making a special trip to get it before you came over!
Colby was ecstatic with his TOBY MAC shirt. Mason got it for him when he and Andrew went to the concert. He was totally thrilled! Can you tell?
After I gave him the shirt, I gave Colby the letter that Mason had written him. Colby stopped what he was doing, ripped it open, and read the entire letter. People were trying to talk to him, hug him, etc... However, Colby was intent on reading his letter from his friend. What a beautiful picture of friendship!Colby actually let me hug him! Something that is a HUGE joke between us! When he would spend the night, he would pretend he didn't want a "good-night-hug." I always squeezed one in though! Now, I think he really likes these hugs! I do, too! I only wish I could hug you more often!
Beautiful Graylyn! When I walked in the room, you jumped in my arms. You held me so tight...for a long time. I miss you, Boo! You are growing up. I see so much of your mother in you. In fact, I think I have a picture of her making the same face you are making in this picture! I miss you so much, please know you will forever hold a special place in my heart. As Max Lucado wrote in one of your favorite books "You - Graylyn - are special."
I look forward to seeing you grow up, and sharing lots of stories with you about your Mom. I loved her so much. Sweet Graylyn, I love you so much as well!

Colby and Graylyn, there is so much I want to say. However, this is not the place. Everytime I begin to write all that I want to say, I become so emotional that I can't focus. Therefore, I'll be brief.
I want you both to know that you are so loved. As I told you in High Point, our family prays for each of you by name daily. You are lifted up to God's Throne. He loves you and He is holding you.
The Beebes love you so much! We are all hopeful that there will be a trip for you to Tennessee in the near future! Yee-haw!

By the way, Colby, thanks for the traditional "rabbit ears!" As usual...

High Point Highlights

I spent last weekend in High Point. I enjoyed my weekend with special friends. I thought I would share a few highlights from the weekend. There are a few BLOGS beyond this one that continue to spill the humor from the our weekend together.
Here are highlights of things I loved about the weekend:
Henry brought his "special friend" Elana over. I loved getting to meet her. I hope to see more of her in the future...hint, hint!
I loved getting to see Tina. She was one of the first friends in my life when we moved to High Point 11 years ago. She looks just the same - beautiful as always! She is growing in her faith and her walk with Christ! The biggest change is that she is no longer driving her 1989 Honda! Scott finally relented and she is now in a newer model - still blue though!

It was fun to see some of the boys playmates. In fact, I think Molly and Elise were Mason's first girlfriends! I love to see how they are growing into young ladies!

I loved seeing Beth...be Beth. She spilled Kelsey's paper flowers. Normally, this would not be a big deal, but Kelsey had them organized...by color...by shape...by flower type...by brand...by petal shape...etc... (Okay, I'm exaggerating! But, Kelsey is one of the most organized people I know! These were organized by color only! Ha!) Beth "felt so bad" it was too funny to see her fretting - in a fun way - over paper flowers!

I loved making the BLUE MAN page! Yes, you all made fun of me! Yes, you all laughed at my attempt at creativity! However, what a fun memory to make this page for Colby and Graylyn!

I loved getting to be silly with the kids! Lovely Lille!

Sadie - you are absolutely priceless!

This is Colby and a side of Van I have never seen! I loved it!

I loved getting to see Amanda receive the incredible album Amy made of their New York trip. She worked so hard on it, and it was really special. Then, I loved seeing Amanda...be Amanda...and forget to take it home. Gotta love her!
I loved being with my precious friends. It was great to be together laughing and remembering. I loved being able to be silly while helping preserve Ansley's memory for Colby and Graylyn. She would be laughing with us! It is great to see how the bonds of friendship continue to stand the test of time.

Although I am completely innocent, I enjoyed watching Amy hide 55 horrendous pictures of Kelsey "yawning!" Amy - yes, Amy - copied them on the computer and then she hid them all around Kelsey's scrapbook room. Kelsey will be finding these for quite a while. I'm innocent until proven guilty!

Uh...What's that on top of your ribbon? Oh, it's a picture of you! Actually, it's five pictures of you!

Psst...Kelsey...have you looked in the microwave?

By the way, the "yawning" picture looked something like this... Isn't she lovely?

I loved this prank on Kelsey because it brought back fun memories of one of the best pranks Amy and I ever pulled on Ansley! She returned home to find tons of tiny pictures of the "Ear" hidden all throughout her house...bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, den...we hid them everywhere. Kelsey said she had even found a tiny "Ear" in some of Ansley's scrapbooking stuff.

Ansley abhorred this "Ear" that she painted. She HATED it! She put it in a Yard Sale to sell it, and I bought it! Imagine that? This "Ear" has brought many smiles to my face, much to Ansley's embarrassment. Remember the "Ear?"

I loved being with everyone. I loved laughing.

Most of all, I loved...

I love you all! You hold a special place in my heart!

You always will!
