Why Scrapbook?

So, why scrapbook? Beyond the fun I have with my friends...beyond the joking and laughing...beyond all of that...

It is a precious way to remember the past. It is a connection to the days traveled before. Scrapbooking is a gift of love to others.

The following pages are a few of the ones completed this weekend for Colby and Graylyn. They are pictures from the days when there Mom (Ansley) was here with them in the flesh. These are memories that could possibly fade over time, but hopefully these pictures will truly capture the moments of happiness for Colby and Graylyn and seal these moments on their hearts.

Colby and Gray - I pray these pages will speak love to you for years to come.

Your mom loved you both so much. So very much...

Pictures I'd Like to Share of my Precious Friends

World, please meet them at their best - Now, these are the ones you've been waiting for. Pictures of my beloved Amy...and most without make-up!! (I know she is freaking out right now!!)

World - I'd like you to meet my precious friend, Amy -

I hope you are laughing right now!! I love you Amy! I love you Kelsey! I love you Amanda! I love you Angie! I loved being with you all!
But I'm glad I was the one with the camera!! Hee-hee!

Sadie is Six

Wow! What a beautiful six year old you are! Thank you for sharing your Mommy with me on your birthday weekend! You are special, Sadie!

On Sunday morning we celebrated Sadie's sixth birthday!

Jay made her a special birthday pancake...complete with frosting, sprinkles, and an umbrella! Very sweet!

He Is Exhausted

I came down the stairs smiling listening to the boys sing the praise song, "He is exalted, the King is exalted on high, I will praise him."

However, as I stepped down the stairs, I realized Weston and Braden were singing, "He is exhausted, the King is exhausted on high..."

I was so tired that night, but I came down the hall singing. Reid started laughing at me and said, "Did you just sing 'He is exhausted?"

Oh, my, I did... I need sleep...

Why You Should Get Your Children An E-Mail Acct.

We finally buckled. We set up an e-mail acct. for Mason so he could begin BLOGGING. Typically, he receives one e-mail each day...from his Daddy. You would think it was the GREATEST thing!

"Hey, Mom! Can I check my e-mail?"

I suppose we are trying to "keep with the times" in expressing our love to the hearts of our boys. However, here is another reason to get your children an e-mail acct...

I went to High Point this past weekend (pictures soon!) I had a wonderful trip being with friends and reminiscing about Ansley. We spent lots of time scrapbooking pictures for Colby and Graylyn while I also got to work on a few pages for our family. It was great being with Amy, Kelsey, Beth, Angie, Tina, Henry, Alana, and Mr. Mom - Jay! Overall, my emotions were in check, but always brimming just below the surface because this was the first time I had scrapbooked with "the gang" since Ansley's death.

On the trip home my mind was swimming with thoughts, and I was driving home on very little sleep from the weekend. I was also driving Reid's 1992 stick-shift Maxima to save on gas. A whole lotta good that did!!

About 1 hour outside of TN, I stopped to fill-up with gas. After pumping, I tried to open the car door...only to find that I HAD LOCKED THE KEYS INSIDE THE CAR!

Nearly two hours later, I am following Danny's Towing Truck to the nearest truck-stop to use their ATM. (Danny's Towing doesn't take checks or credit cards! Arghhh!) I withdraw the $50 (money we don't have right now) and finally pay for the "unlocking" job.

I get back on the interstate, still not really focused on driving. I'm thinking about the weekend, the $50 that is now gone, telling Reid about my adventures, seeing Colby and Graylyn, memories from the past, the Banana joke, the yawning picture, etc... My mind was all over the place!

About 1 hour and 45 minutes after my "unlocking" episode, I am on the outskirts of Dandridge, TN. I crossed safely into Tennessee and am finally close to home. This is when I realize, that once I got back on the interstate from having the car unlocked - I NEVER SHIFTED OUT OF THIRD GEAR!!! Not good...not good...not good AT ALL!

By the time I arrived home, my emotions had catapulted beyond normal range. Once I finally shared everything with Reid...the tears began to flow. And, flow they did! Being tired only magnified my emotions. Whew!

Thanks to Reid for calming me down and loving in my teary state!

Anyway, Monday I turned on the computer to check my e-mail. This was what I found in my Inbox:

Subject: Your Trip

Hey Mom,
I don't know when you will get this email but the day you got back from the trip you were crying. I don't know what it was about but if it was about Mrs. Wolffis then you should know she is in heaven and you shouldn't worry about it.
Love, Mason

Precious...thank you Mason! I appreciate your comforting words! You are a blessing to me and I am grateful for your compassionate heart! Thank you for understanding your teary-eyed mother. And, thank you for speaking truth to me. You are right, Mrs. Wolffis is in heaven. Thank you, Mason. You are growing up. I am proud of the man you are becoming.

Finally, I am glad you have e-mail. You can e-mail me anytime! I promise I won't put them all on my BLOG!

UT vs. FL - Eating Gator Meat

This happened a while ago, but I just got the pictures and wanted to share them with my fellow football fans!
The FUTURE COBB-WEBB... GREENE-BEEBE
During our time in High Point, we usually watched the game with the BIGGEST FLORIDA FANS - Glen and Lori! Even though they are Florida fans, they are precious people. I usually left their home with my head hung low after watching TN get pounded.

However, this year started a new tradition! Our UT Fan Friends - Brad and Julie - invited us to their home for the TN vs. FL game this year! They are also PRECIOUS PEOPLE and they ROOT FOR THE VOLS! GO BIG ORANGE!
If you have never seen a TN fan go "all-out" for a TN football game, you need to tailgate with Julie and Brad in their living room! It's incredible! Shakers on the mantle, a "Rocky Top" playing bottle opener for Orange CRUSH, a football game in the backyard during half-time and a phone that rings off the hook with folks calling for updates! (Julie's dream-job would be to be a Sports Anchor on ESPN and these precious friends call so she can practice! Ha-ha!) It is ROCKY TOP PARADISE!
Before the game started this year, Brad made a run to the store for a special Florida appetizer...GATOR MEAT! The boys thought it was the coolest!!

This year, my head still hung low after the VOLS got pounded...BUT I ENJOYED THE LOSS WITH TENNESSEE FANS! We loved being with you Brad and Julie!

As in years past, I'll say, "Good game, Glen and Lori! Wait until next year!"

Science Experiment Station Central - Polar Ice Caps

We're learning about the planets and the polar ice caps on Mars. Today we did a VERY COOL Science experiment with dry ice.

We learned about... the make-up of dry ice (it is frozen carbon dioxide), the polar ice caps on Mars are made of dry ice, the sublimation process (frozen carbon dioxide passes from solid to gas without the liquid phase), the weight of carbon dioxide (it's heavier than our air and pushes oxygen molecules away - the gas coming off the ice will put out a lit candle), metal is the best conductor of temperature (when compared with plastic & wood), and only handle dry ice with gloves on! (Braden burned his hand!)
We learned so much today! Do I hear any votes for Homeschool Mom of the Year?? Ha-ha!!

Fellowship Bible Women's Retreat 2007

Here is our group picture from the Women's Retreat held Nov. 2-4 in Townsend, TN. I'll upload more pictures and write about it soon. You can click on the photo if you want to see these beautiufl women in a larger frame!

The History of The X-Box

2007 - The X-Box Resurfaced after two years in hiding! Weston is wearing the infamous Beebe costume.

2005 - The X-Box is unveiled!
Reid had just been through surgery on 10-28 (Braden's second birthday!) and I felt like I needed to take boys out of the house so he could rest. It was last minute - unplanned, unprepared, not ready! What could we do for costumes without spending any money?
After a lot of thought the "X-Box" costume was created! Creative and inexpensive!

One problem with this costume for two-year-olds! Although Braden could still suck his thumb, he couldn't walk while wearing the box! He kept falling down! It was really funny!
It's hard to believe just two short years ago, we spent Oct. 31st with Karissa, Travis and the Canters! It is hard to believe two years have flown by! We love you - our precious friends in High Point!

FALL FEST 2007 - Outreach HQ = Ancelet Home

Our family spent Halloween night at the Ancelet's home. Their family and the youth of FBC were hosting a neighborhood outreach. It was really a fun night!
They offered popcorn, all kinds of games for kids, apple bobbing, cotton candy, face-painting (with glitter!!), and lots of candy for the children who came by! We enjoyed being with our friends and providing a FUN place for people to come!
Ted - you did a great job! Thank you for planning such a creative outreach event for our church body! You rock!
Christy, Tracie, and the TN Hillbilly! The beautiful baby is Christy's...not mine!
Weston sports his X-Box. Check out my BLOG for "The History of the X-Box"
The Pigtail Twins
Braden LOVED the GLOW necklaces!
Franklin bobs for apples in the "Mystery Pot"
Bruce needs to see a dentist!
Cliff...really, your outfit is TOTALLY you!

Ya'll come back now, ya hear??! Yee-Haw!!

Beebe Costumes

This year our ENTIRE family dressed up!
Braden = A Noble Knight
Weston = An X-box
Franklin = An Orioles Baseball Player
Mason = A Karns Football Player

Reid = Pretending to be a Boston Red Sox Fan (just won the World Series)...he worked really hard on his costume. When he came home from work, he simply put on his baseball hat! He does get points for quick creativity though! I love my honey!
Robin = My Alter-Ego Self...A Tennessee Hillbilly (The boys thought I was a dog! Thanks a lot!)

The pics above were taken with our neighborhood friends. After visiting a few neighbors, we headed over to the Ancelets for FALL FEST 2007!

PS - Just for my reference, the boys favorite candy this year is: Braden - "chocolate covered chocolates," Weston - Airheads, Franklin - Airheads and Reese Cups and Three Musketeers, Mason - Smarties! This seems like a good place to record it!

Mom, I Have Plans Today

On October 31st, Braden woke up and said, "Mom, I have plans today. I am going on a hayride!"
Braden's preschool was having a hayride for all of the children. Since his preschool is at the entrance of our neighborhood, the other three boys and I walked down for the ride. The school generously offered to let all of the boys go on the ride. At the end, everyone received a pumpkin!
Braden was thrilled to have all of us there with him. However, the hayride around the parking lot offered different scenery than your "traditional" hayride. Here is what we viewed as we rode on the hay-bales. How our world has changed!

Coke, anyone??
